Prepare for tomorrow today.

Today’s newsletter will be straight and short. Fam, you need to stop deceiving yourself and face the truth. One of the key attributes of living consciously is being loyal to the truth, not about making yourself right. You should prepare for any (life) event you know will eventually happen instead of denying the facts staring you in the face. Life is full of many uncertainties, but you can prepare for the things that are certain. When you do this, you will have enough time and effort to tackle the uncertain ones.

Are you planning to get married one day? Then, you should start chasing knowledge about love and marriage. Is winning a scholarship in your education plan? Start looking into it. Do you already have an idea of what you’ll want to do after school? Start learning all you can about it. There are nine months between conception and delivery, start learning about parenting now.

Skillful road drivers know that navigating a curve is always tough if you try to do it when you get there. Most times, the consequence is a fatal accident. It is the same with life. Smart people negotiate the curve — prepare for the things that are sure to come to them — before they get to the bend. They see danger ahead and take precautions now. Acquiring knowledge and making efforts at anything is never too early but it can be too late. That is what negotiating a curve is all about.

Smart people negotiate the curve — prepare for the things that are sure to come to them — before they get to the bend.

“We will cross it when we get to the bridge.” Why not learn about crossing the bridge now before you get there? Don’t you think you’re at an advantage if you know there’s a bridge to cross? Why not give yourself an edge over those who don’t know there’s a bridge in the first place? Take the bend before the curve!

Wanting to “get to every bridge before you cross it” may just be a result of fear. You’re afraid of your ability and competence. You’re afraid you’re not equipped enough to face the harsh reality. But you’re only postponing your responsibility if you choose not to do it now. Not just this, you are adding up more responsibilities for yourself.

You have seen the curve ahead and that’s enough advantage. Now, start planning how you’ll negotiate it so you can conserve some energy, time, and effort for the ones you cannot yet see.
